Hey, what’s up! I’m Chris and I’m based in Enschede, The Netherlands. I have a long history of music production, marketing, web design, and development.
Before we jump to the whole “about me” thing, I feel this is an important thing to mention: Although the name of this website might suggest otherwise—I’m not part of the “hustle bro” culture or mentality (e.g. work 48 hours per day).
I believe in the hustle, but I also believe in balancing that art with plenty of rest. Listen to my mind, soul and body. Take plenty breaks. Enjoy life and have an occasional party as well. In short, I gave hustle my own definition.
On this blog, I’ll mainly focus on marketing automation and web development. But I won’t shy away to publish an occasional rant, interesting story or something music related.
Like many others, in my early days, the internet struck a chord with me. In 2009 I stumbled upon music production because of this video from Ryan Leslie.
The ability to create music from nothing to something in your bedroom fuelled my creativity. I started producing hip-hop and R&B music.
Long story short, a few years later, I took a leap of faith and auditioned for the Herman Brood Academy, a well-known music school in the Netherlands and I got in. 🎉
During my second year at HBA, I couldn’t stop consuming content and thinking about marketing. After I graduated the Herman Brood Academy in 2016 I started working full-time as a waiter.
By the way, you check out some of my music here.
On the side, I did some web design at Heroic Academy—a course platform and blog for electronic music producers.Eventually, that led me to join the Heroic Academy team full time and later on become Head of Marketing.
Budi Voogt and Tim van Doorne—the co-founders of Heroic—taught me a lot about online marketing, management, and transparency. And here’s where all the pieces came together. 🚀
At the end of 2018, I joined a creative agency called Mediastap founded by Tim—who I quickly became great friends with.
This blog will be a place where I share hacks and other discoveries that I run into when working at Mediastap, building Urban Masterclass and my side projects.
